All season ong Barcelona looked like a team ready to clinch the first seed in te PO battle. They were holding the 1st postion since the start of the season and looked pretty sharp, beating Real twice. In normal circumstances, that alone would be enough to clinch the firs seed, but than came some pretty lousy games near the end.

After the exhausting series with Efes in the Eurolegue Barcelona managed to lose three out of last 5 games including 2 home defeats against Valencia and Baskonia, defeats that should not happen to this team. That pushed them down to 3rd spot and they are lucky that Zaragoza beat Baskonia in the first round, otherwise they would have to beat Baskonia without home court advantage.

Real did not look like Real most of the season. They were slow and their three point percentage fell down a lot. But, when it mattered the most, Real showed class. Sergio Llul, Spanish icon and probably the best player on the team when fit, took a victory from them against CSKA in F4 of the Euroleague with some terrible decision making down the stretch.

They bounced back in this series. First game was won with ease and the second game is a story, a real story. They were down 5 27 second till the end, Barcelona had possession and it all looked like a tied series. Than, Randolph hit 2 major threes, Claver did not hit his charity line shots, neither did Huertel, and Carrol made a killer at the buzzer, What a game!

Now it is time for Barcelona to get their shit back together. They showed a lot of times this season that they can play with Real and even that they are better. In Madrid, their shots just were not falling In and I expect that to change once the ball hits home turf.

Besides that slip up at the end of the season, all year long Barcelona had terrific home court record. They only lost to CSKA this year at home prior to that terrible April.

Pesic is a brilliant coach and he will find a way to get back into this series, I am sure of that. 11
