Today we have an interesting matchup in Turkish basketball league. This season for Efes under Ataman was a revelation. Years prior to this one Efes was considered a “losing” club, they were always spending shit loads of money on veterans beyond their prime or players that would just not live to the hype in the capital of Turkey, but this season is different.
After almost 20 years, Efes managed to secure F4 spot in the Euroleague and they did just fine there, reaching the finals just to be beaten by super strong CSKA. In the semis they won against today’s opponent, Fenerbahce, with ease.

Efes has a brilliant roster, best offensive duo in Europe this season, Larkin and Micic are paired with best defensive player this season, Bryant Dunston, and that combination is lethal. Micic is playing out of this world basketball and Larkin shows why he was once regarded as an NBA prospect. Then add Beaubois, a player who had a 45 game in the NBA, Moermann who can shoot lights out from the wing, Theiss and Simon who is a master of pick and roll, and so on. Now you have a picture of how really strong is Efes.

Fener is in problems. First of all, they play without their two most important players (Sloukas is probably the best player on the team but for game play reasons, Datome and Vesely are the most important players as Vesely holds the defense of the paint and Datome scores at will from the wing. Without them, Efes is just a very good, but not a great team.
Efes knows how to dismantle usually strong Fener Defense. They pass the ball very fast and do not give the opponents the chance to trap. Larkin and Micic are so strong on the ball and Micic can not be bullied by Slokuas in the post as he is one of the rare guards in Europe that can match his height.

Efes proved a lot of times this season that they do not choke as they used to in the past. Now, they are a complete competitive team that knows how to win.
Only problem is that they do not have a “hot” home court for Turkish standards and because of that I do not go with full stake.

For me, 5 units on -3.5 Efes is the only way to go today, one of the best picks we posted so far.

Efes wins this by a good margin of at least 5 points in my opinion.
